Reposting this article from a while back here’s an idea for something to do with a digital microscope.
Ask the children to use the microscope to take a range of pictures of different objects and put them into a presentation. They can then share their presentations for the rest of the class to guess “what is it?”
I’ve presented the images here using a website called PhotoPeach. But you could use powerpoint, prezi or other presentation packages.
I made two presentations – the first presentation shows the images – you could show it to your class first for them to guess what the different things are.
I then made a second presentation with the same images, with the answers added as captions.
What is it? – The Answers on PhotoPeach
The microscope I used is the Easiscope, from TTS which gives pretty good images considering its price. It’s not good for looking at cells etc, but for simple uses it’s great.
Enjoy!
