<p>Reposting this article from a while back here&#8217;s an idea for something to do with a digital microscope.</p>
<p>Ask the children to use the microscope to take a range of pictures of different objects and put them into a presentation. They can then share their presentations for the rest of the class to guess &#8220;what is it?&#8221;</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve presented the images here using a website called <a href="http://photopeach.com/" target="_blank">PhotoPeach</a>. But you could use powerpoint, prezi or other presentation packages.</p>
<p>I made two presentations &#8211; the first presentation shows the images &#8211; you could show it to your class first for them to guess what the different things are.</p>
<p><a href="http://photopeach.com/album/qklfxg">What is it??? on PhotoPeach</a></p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="445" height="326" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="data" value="http://photopeach.com/public/swf/story.swf" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="flashvars" value="photos=http://photopeach.com%2Fapi%2Fgetphotos%3Falbum_id%3Dqklfxg&amp;autoplay=0&amp;embed=1" /><param name="src" value="http://photopeach.com/public/swf/story.swf" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="445" height="326" src="http://photopeach.com/public/swf/story.swf" flashvars="photos=http://photopeach.com%2Fapi%2Fgetphotos%3Falbum_id%3Dqklfxg&amp;autoplay=0&amp;embed=1" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" data="http://photopeach.com/public/swf/story.swf"></embed></object></p>
<p>I then made a second presentation with the same images, with the answers added as captions.</p>
<p><a href="http://photopeach.com/album/179nmi7">What is it? &#8211; The Answers on PhotoPeach</a></p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="445" height="326" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="data" value="http://photopeach.com/public/swf/story.swf" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="flashvars" value="photos=http://photopeach.com%2Fapi%2Fgetphotos%3Falbum_id%3D179nmi7&amp;autoplay=0&amp;embed=1" /><param name="src" value="http://photopeach.com/public/swf/story.swf" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="445" height="326" src="http://photopeach.com/public/swf/story.swf" flashvars="photos=http://photopeach.com%2Fapi%2Fgetphotos%3Falbum_id%3D179nmi7&amp;autoplay=0&amp;embed=1" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" data="http://photopeach.com/public/swf/story.swf"></embed></object></p>
<p>The microscope I used is the <a href="http://www.tts-group.co.uk/shops/tts/Products/PD1727003/">Easiscope</a>, from TTS which gives pretty good images considering its price. It&#8217;s not good for looking at cells etc, but for simple uses it&#8217;s great.</p>
<p>Enjoy!</p>
